Community Life at COS

Community is great! if we are going to understand and live out our faith. So we take it seriously and build it into everything we do as a church. COS can feel big and complicated but it is simple if you see it as a group of people who are trying to figure this Christian life thing out.

As you look into community at COS, here are a few good places to start:

Guest Central

Guest Central is located at the end of Building A in the Welcome Center. Between every service there are people there waiting to meet you, listen to you and help you take your first few steps into connecting into the life of Church of the Saviour. There are also computer terminals there so that you can go to Guest Central online.

Sunday Mornings

We have three worship services every Sunday morning. Many people will attend a class or ministry during one worship service and then attend worship and sit near their friends. The Children’s ministry and Nursery love to have the kids for both services and are super creative to make each Sunday morning special for kids as well as adults.

Membership

We encourage all who are ready to join us in partnership as we seek to be a blessing to our community, our region and our world. The New Members class is a great place to hear our vision, make friends and join us in partnership. In the class you will meet the pastors, ministry leaders and meet with an elder individually.

LIFE Groups

We meet as a community outside of Sunday’s also. Most of those who call COS there church home find their way into small groups of 4-14 people. These are great places to make friends and figure what Christianity looks like on a practical level. They afford the opportunity to not just listen to what the Bible says, but discuss and ‘wrestle’ with its meaning in everyday life.

Serving Teams

Most of the work that gets done at COS is done by volunteers. We join together in teams and build friendships along the way. Many of us have to spend a lot of time each on our jobs and we don’t get to choose what we do or we do it for. When we serve together, we usually get to do something we enjoy and when we do it, we do it for God and each other. Even though we don’t get paid financially, we find that the other benefits are even more rewarding!
